Francis McMillan Carmack Diary, . 1852-1861

Francis McMillan Carmack was a teacher and Campbellite Christian (Disciples of Christ) preacher. The collection is two volumes of a diary written by Carmack at Franklin College, Davidson County, Tenn.; Euclid Hill Academy in Mississippi; Bledsoe Female Academy, Sumner County, Tenn.; and at Selma, Ala. Included are entries about daily activities and events; comments on reading; notes on theology; and a copy of a family history written by Cornelius Carmack in 1828 and continued in 1861 by F. M. Carmack with an account of his mother's family and an autobiographical sketch.
